GordonDerr was recently hired by both Columbia and Garfield Counties to provide land use legal counsel to the County as it reviews a land use application from Puget Sound Energy for the Lower Snake River Wind Energy Project, a proposed 795 turbine, 124,000 acre, 1,432 megawatt wind farm project in Garfield and Columbia Counties. The firm is overseeing code development, environmental review under the State Environmental Policy Act and consideration of the conditional use permit application on behalf of both Garfield and Columbia Counties. Construction on the project is expected to begin in 2010.
